The finished update of Flash "Blue Lantern" from Ibentmyman-thing:

-The blue parts are silver coated in clear blue, his black parts are also all coated with a coat of clear blue, which gives him a two-tone bluish appearance when the light strikes him just right, which faintly emulates a blue corona of energy. Camera doesn't really pick it up well at all.

-He sculpted the raised symbol on his chest. Took a few tries to paint the symbol right. Cut out the lightning bolt and painted it bluish-white and glued it on top to emulate the raised 3d lightning bolt he has in the comic.

-He also tried to give the hint of the Blue Lantern symbol in his ring. That didn't come out so well. There's a faint trace of it but the paint washed out a lot of the detail.

Took apart my DCD Lex Luthor, and my sister surprised me with a Luthor 2-pack so I went to work on combining the two to get a more accurate looking Luthor.

It looks great, just need to switch out the dcd neck/peg system since the dcuc/dcsh neck sucks.

Gonna add ankle movement from a TNA AJ Styles figure.

Most of the rest of the work will be sanding and adding trim for the torso piece.

Got another cool update from Dustin on Mongul Jr. plus the Radioactive Man that Cal had started and I got in that ebay lot from last april.


Mongul Jr:















After adding all that mass, he's been refining the sculpt and making sure things are symmetrical.

The removable arm idea is totally do-able and he's included a picture of his socket, which should definitely support it.

The chrome dots are paper fasteners anchored in tiny holes, as you can see on his shoulder straps.

He used gold grommets on the rings to avoid sculpting all those circles, but then he realized they'd allow for snap-on constructs. Dustin's thinking about how to do removable ring faces for each ring, so any ring can be used for any construct. In order to start experimenting he'll get some clear plastic rods that can fit into the rings. Ideally eight will have ring faces and a few others will allow the constructs to attach to the rings.

He thinks his right boot is headed in the right direction. It took a while to figure out how to translate those classic big boots from the drawings into 3D.

Now that he have a sense of how heavy he is (heavy), he'll give some thought to adding thigh and shin articulation. If he can find and install strong enough pins for the joints, they would really give him an edge over the DCD figure.

-The majority of Mongul Jr. looks ready to prime.
-He's gonna bring Mongul hands with him to the hobby store this week to find the right size styrene rods to anchor the constructs, and to get some yellow dye for the resin.
-He should also be able to find some parts for the ring faces.
-Adding the shin cuts was a great idea. He holds the lunging pose from the pic with Iron perfectly without wobbling.
-While he was finishing his boots he added some Kirby designs on the soles.

-He took longer than he expected on paint touch-ups.

-Nothing noticeable, just making extra sure he did justice to Cal's work.

-I can send Ray's Iron Man any time. He thinks it'll be very cool to see it in person.

-No news with the constructs yet but he's done some painting on Mongul.

-He also added styrene seams on his chest and back.

If the colors look good, he'll go ahead and paint the metallic parts and the shoulder straps and add the rest of the chrome studs.

-Right now his eyes are yellow, since they seemed to be glowing with yellow ring power in a lot of the reference pics.

Well, mrjasontodd off thegreenlanterncorps board was geting rid of his collection and Tri-eye & Ganthet were ones I wanted so it worked out. Tri-Eye is made by Warrack, who I'm a big fan of and have wanted customs from before. Ganthet is made by a thegreenlanterncorps member.

MARVEL UPDATE:


Radioactive Man:












Dustin's been tinkering with Radioactive Man on and off since he received him. The engineering of the visor and the full-body sculpt work is fantastic, so after sanding the joints he concentrated on tightening up the harness and oxygen tank details. He'll put a clear dot like the ones on Cannonball's goggles on the harness buckle.

The pouches are from DCSH Batmen. He'll put pins through the buttons to anchor them in place. The boots are based on some widely-used hazmat boots.

The oxygen tank attaches with a post to the figure's back. Because it's not glued in place, the hose is pulling it at an angle, but after painting the tank will fit snugly onto the strap.

The only other sculpt work he foresee is making pieces of belt visible between the pouches. If I prefer the way JRJR drew him in Spider-Man with a belt buckle instead of pouches straight across, he can pop off the center pouch and sculpt a buckle. Beyond that, he thinks he's ready to be primed.

-He's just about finished.
-He initially painted the air tank straps brown like in the JRJR Spider-Man story he was in, but over in T-Bolts they were gray.
-Aside from that, he'll tighten up some of the paint details and that's about it.

He modded the arm sockets and used Superman Red upper arms and shoulders with Bizarro lower arms. He also added the blue accents because with all the white in the costume as well as the wings he thought it needed a little accenting.

-He thinks he's gonna rework the back of her pants a bit, though. They look a little off.
-He replaced the hands with Movie Iron Man ones and gave her "X" elbow pads from a House of M Wolverine glider.

I got a unexpected surprised from Sam who made my Red Sonja, a completed Morgan Le Fey from the Dark Avengers encounter.












Some much needed characters. I had seen wips of Songbird by Raydaimon "Raybot" over at fwoosh and just knew I had to have her so I talked with Ray and low on behold he was also working on Moonstone.

-Ray sculpted the belt, gauntlets, and harness.
-The design for her harness changed a lot so he just whipped this up and he liked it better than a lot of the ones he was looking at.

-He's working out the kinks on chroming things, so Moonstone seemed like a good candidate, plus she goes great with Songbird and the current Thunderbolts lineup.
-He used an Elektra with boots and a fist from Invisible Woman.
-The other fist might be a sanded down hand from Ben Reilly Spidey.
-The hair was from WWE Mickey James. He liked the way the sorta crazed facial expression came out.
-Plus she's got zero paint-rub...which was the big challenge with the chroming.

-He's been crazy busy, but was able to take a picture of Songbird with her new head. He'll probably ship Monday or Tuesday, but it's all done.

He got Man-Thing, it'll probably be two weeks before he gets Man-Thing done, but he's sure he'll be able to make him look decent.


Sadly that Blade & Gladiator are not mine.


I also got a cast of his "Bleeding Edge" Iron Man and it was just finished, I'm gonna ask Dustin next time if he would like to paint IM using one of his nice metallic finishes.




Hello all,

Since getting Moonstone & Songbird from raybot. I got raybot to sculpt a alternate short melissa head for the current look.

I've got 4lcc from Fwoosh making a T-Bolts Crossbones & T-Bolts Bullseye.

Captain Odious from Fwoosh is making me a T-Bolts Ghost & Luke Cage next.


Raybot is going to make me a Juggernaut. Either with Red Hulk upperbody/Planet Hulk lower or Planet Hulk upper/Maestro lower.

I put together a broken Sasquatch I had and combined it with the puny Man-thing that came out in ML, which I love other than his height and size. I cut off the 4 branches from his back, and the bumps and twigs and will be gluing them myself. Then have someone paint him for me.

-He was debating between a darker brown and a lighter brown.
-He thinks the darker brown looks better but the lighter brown is more comic acurate, which I agree with.

Well, another Inhuman added to the collection, Black Bolt by the very good customizer, churichuro. I had asked him if he would sell his Blackagar Boltagon after I saw it last year but time had gone by and I had forgot. Well, I was going thru some old pms and came across it and asked and he said it was still for sale but my sister bought it for me. He'll go great with my Gorgon from GrownNerd.

Normal face is Ronin head with mask sculpt in epoxy.
The screaming head is sculpted in epoxy, the wings are done in latex.
The antenna was done with a paper clip.

There's also a unmasked head, sculpted in epoxy which I'll take a photo of when he arrives in a week or two.

Great news, I finally heard from TFMANIAC after I sent two emails saying that I was going to report him to that site and over at Fwoosh thru that site Opticon gave.

AOA Iceman was finished. The others were started but never worked on again. Problems and so so. I feel bad but it had to be done otherwise I would've never heard a thing and it would've been a big lost on my part. He's gonna send Ice Man to show that he's not lying.

But watching all your pics, it seems it was definitely worth the long wait !!!

You have the best Marvel/DC customs collection in the world !!!

You are really a lucky man to have all those fantastic customizers making thos awesome pieces.

Ibentmyman & M1 lanterns customs are just freakin' amazing. Those figures just seem to come out from a factory.

I love all the figures you have commissioned even though they are very contemporary figures (as you know I am more into silver-bronze age characters due to my "old" age" )

In the Marvel selection, I especially dig the Songbird figure from Raybot. He is such a great painter and customizer !

Just a quick question : are you making yourself some customs (like the Man thing mods ?)

Again you have the best collection.

P.S. : you have loaded very heavy pics and it's really really difficult to see them all correctly...

Yeah, long time, since March.

It was fun time getting them, but it's been a slow year. No job, and just school. Thats the good thing having stuff paid off way in advance.

Thanks, my DC Collection has been sold since March. I only have DC Lanterns. My Marvel customs are still pride and joy.

Yeah, I'm definitely lucky to have the customs I have and definitely lucky to have become friends with most of them.

Yup, Benty's & M1's customs have been some of my favorites. They're really nicer than most of the factory figs.

Hm, I'm still trying to get my modern teams done first and then find someone to do classic customs for me.

Songbird turned out beautiful, I like the choice of switching heads. He's doing a Juggernaut, Man-Thing for me. A few others as well.

Ah, I only doing part-swapping and trim-work, cutting, and stuff these days. I get some customizers to do the painting/sculpting for me most of the time.

Once again, thanks for the reply. I really do love my collection.

ps., I don't resize them since fwoosh or TNI's board does the resizing for me when I post them. That would be a great thing here.
